New kidswear: Brindille and Twig Hooded Vest + Crew Sweatshirts and Winter PJs from Peekaboo Patterns

There was some sunshine today! Hallelujah! I ran out and snapped some pics of some garments I’ve finished, but have been struggling to capture. I believe this year was a record one for Seattle in terms of rainfall (it doesn’t rain half as much as people think) and I can tell you we’re all feeling the long grey days… Anyway! Enough about that. I don’t make my son clothes too often, but when I do it’s in a batch and Joe was in dire need of new pyjamas and a couple of winter layering items, so I cut some out just before Christmas and finally finished them up.

The new garment I tried this time was the Brindille and Twig Hooded Vest No. 95, which I made out of this Albstoffe Quilted Knit Jersey in Dusty Blue (I see the light grey is still available and on sale). As with most Euro knits, the quality is lovely and the jacquard jersey is quite thick and warm. New kids clothes: Brindille and Twig crew sweatshirt and Ottobre jumper and sweatpants

I’ve made a few more things for Joe and used a few new patterns. I don’t make him clothes too often as he gets lots of lovely garments from friends and family, but he is just about growing out of some and was in need of a sweater or two for this ongoing winter snap here in Seattle. I realized I didn’t have a basic crew neck sweater pattern and, while at this point I probably could have come up with something myself, I went ahead and bought the Brindille and Twig version. Then I went slightly crazy and decided to make another sweater and a pair of sweatpants from the Ottobre Kids 06/2017 edition at the same time. “Kids stuff is so quick to make” I told myself and, while this is normally true, I hadn’t looked too closely at the Ottobre patterns and they were a lot more complicated than his usual makes!

New makes: Tees for men and boys round-up

Sometimes I think I’m not going to post something, and occasionally I get caught up in other life stuff and don’t, but for the most part I do remind myself that the blog is as much a record for me as it is a piece of outward-going media. So that’s why I’ve also written this intro: to remind myself to remind myself of that next time I forget. Etc.

This wittering is relevant because I’m posting a bunch of new t-shirts today, which are basically now TNT patterns for my husband and son. Therefore, I’ll put limited notes on them, unless I’ve┬áconstructed something differently than before. The main changes are the fabric I’ve used, so if you want some info on cotton lycra or organic knits for t-shirts, read on.
